La Chicane

La Chicane is a Canadian francophone rock band based in Val-d'Or, Quebec.[1] Their sound is described as "jazz-rock" or "lounge rock".[2]

History

La Chicane was formed in 1993 in Val-d'Or by Boom Desjardins, Alain Villeneuve, Suzanne Dufour, Christian Legault and Éric Lemieux. They performed regularly in Quebec and recorded for DKD Disques.

In 2000, La Chicane was nominated for best group and for best-selling Francophone album at the Juno Awards.[3]

They performed at the 2003 Toronto Rocks SARS benefit concert,[4][5] along with many more well-known bands.[6]

In 2017, after a ten-year hiatus, La Chicane got back together to release a new song, "La derniere Chicane".[7][8]
