A Town Where You Live (君のいる町, Kimi no Iru Machi) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Kouji Seo. The series is a character-driven romance story set in the same universe and during the events of the manga and anime series Suzuka; it follows Haruto Kirishima, a self-conscious teenager, and Yuzuki Eba, a boisterous teenage girl that moved from Tokyo into the Kirishima family's country home.
A Town Where You Live is serialized in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine published by Kodansha since June 2008.[1] As of January 2014, Kodansha has compiled its chapters into 26 bound volumes. The final chapter was released on February 12, 2014, in the 11th issue of Weekly Shōnen Magazine, with its final volume released March 17.[2]
On October 30, 2013, Crunchyroll Manga was launched and included A Town Where You Live in its library.[3][4] The series has also been published in languages such as French and Chinese.[5][6]

Because of a past promise, Yuzuki Eba transfers from Tokyo to Shōbara, Hiroshima and moves into the residence of Haruto Kirishima. Yuzuki adjusts to her life in the countryside and helps Haruto bond with his crush, Nanami Kanzaki. When Yuzuki kisses Haruto, Haruto believes she is flaunting herself, causing them to argue. After Yuzuki reveals she only depends on Haruto alone, the two reconcile and return to their normal relationship. | ||||

Nanami comes to believe Haruto harbors unrequited love towards Yuzuki. Shortly after, Yuzuki tells her she likes Haruto and will make him love her. Haruto's friend, Akari Kaga, asks him and Yuzuki to set up a double date to allow her to be with Nanami's brother, Narumi. On the double date, Narumi reveals his intentions to court Yuzuki. Haruto later, asks Nanami out but she wants to remain friends. Haruto resolves to earn Nanami's love. | ||||

Haruto finds a diary which reveals his first meeting with Yuzuki during a summer festival and how he told her to return to Shōbara if she is troubled in life. Nanami asks Haruto to a shopping date; however, when Yuzuki is asked to return to Tokyo for a funeral, Haruto accompanies Yuzuki and cancels his date with Nanami. In Tokyo, Yuzuki returns to her home, and Haruto meets Rin Eba, Yuzuki's younger step-sister, where he is informed about Yuzuki's estrangement from the family. | ||||

After finding Yuzuki and having her explain the situation, Haruto chastises Yuzuki's step-siblings allowing them and Yuzuki to reconcile. The two return to Shōbara and later, Nanami asks Haruto to be her date for the summer festival. Yuzuki's step-siblings also attend the summer festival where Rin reveals to Nanami why Haruto canceled their date. As a result, Nanami decides to abstain from the festival but realizes she loves Haruto and attends. She nearly confesses her feelings to Haruto but is interrupted with the news that Yuzuki is missing. | ||||

Nanami, seeing Haruto and Yuzuki together, formally declines Haruto's intentions of dating. Haruto and Yuzuki are chosen to be part of a committee for a school event. For the event, Haruto overcomes his awkward relationship with Nanami in order to ask to use her family's apple farm. He then asks her why he was rejected and confirms the reason to be his closeness with Yuzuki. | ||||

Haruto learns Yuzuki is moving back to Tokyo after the school year as she has reconciled with her family. Haruto then realizes and acknowledges he has loved Yuzuki for a while and is conflicted by her transfer. Haruto attempts to show his affection to Yuzuki making her avoid him. Meanwhile, a girl from the school committee comes to believe Haruto will ask her to be his date for the Kōyasai. During the event, Haruto asks Yuzuki to be his date. | ||||

Haruto confesses his feelings to Yuzuki who replies she refuses to date anyone due to her imminent transfer. On the day of Yuzuki's transfer, Haruto convinces her to try a long-distance relationship. Later, Haruto's class is set to have a field trip to Tokyo and Haruto begins working at a restaurant to earn money for a present. | ||||

During the school trip, Nanami asks Haruto to pretend to be her boyfriend to impress her friend. The two are then seen by Yuzuki but the misunderstanding is resolved. Yuzuki gives Haruto a present and the next day, Haruto's class returns home. Since then, Yuzuki has cut ties with everyone from Shōbara. Haruto is disheartened by this and Nanami attempts to comfort him and confesses her feelings for him. Haruto learns that Yuzuki has begun dating someone and after finding a letter in Yuzuki's present which echos the fact, believes something has happened to Yuzuki. | ||||

Haruto asks classmate Mina Nagoshi to take him to an event at Yuzuki's school. There, he finds Yuzuki but is asked to stay away from her; shortly after, Haruto learns that Yuzuki is dating Kyousuke. Yuzuki reveals she felt indebted to Kyousuke and after learning he was terminally ill with a year left to live, began to date him. Realizing he can't remain friends with Kyousuke unless he is honest, Haruto openly declares his intentions to take Yuzuki back. | ||||

Kyousuke's friend, Kiyomi Asakura, reveals that Kyousuke has declined a risky surgery as he intends to use his illness to date Yuzuki. However, his competition with Haruto changes his mind and he decides to take the surgery to compete for Yuzuki's love fairly. The day before the surgery, Kyousuke invites everyone for dinner where Kiyomi reveals her love for Kyousuke. The surgery fails and Kyousuke dies. Haruto and Yuzuki decide to stop seeing each other as they feel guilty starting a relationship after his death. Haruto invites Asuka and Kiyomi to Shōbara for winter break. | ||||

Haruto contemplates on his feelings for Asuka. Asuka tells Haruto she wishes to stop seeing him due to unrequited love but Haruto decides to reciprocate her feelings. Before going public with their relationship, Haruto and Asuka visit Kyousuke's grave to tell him first. Two years later, Haruto and his friends have entered the same Seijo University. There, Haruto is blackmailed by Shiori Amaya into taking classnotes for her while she focuses on her career as a manga artist. She takes Haruto to a love hotel for reference materials; the two are seen by Nanami. | ||||

Haruto is blackmailed into keeping Shiori's intentions a secret. Haruto has a difficult time to explain the situation to his friends and Asuka with the latter believing his good intentions. Haruto is later asked to go to a group date where he is reunited with Yuzuki. Yuzuki treats Haruto cordially and exchanges contact information with him. Haruto begins working part-time at a convenience store and becomes reacquainted with Rin. Rin challenges Haruto's feelings for Asuka and invites him on a date to an amusement park. | ||||

It is revealed Rin has set up a date between Haruto and Yuzuki. Haruto invites Yuzuki to go with him as he intends to buy Asuka a memento. He is then chastised by Rin for buying a memento with another girl which encourages Haruto to buy another memento. Haruto and Asuka plan a trip to Okinawa for the summer but Asuka is forced to cancel due to a family member being injured. Remembering Yuzuki's birthday, Haruto gives her a pendant he meant to give her two years ago. Yuzuki then decides to move on from Kyousuke's death by discarding her old pendant. Haruto, his friends, and Yuzuki decide to return to Shōbara for the summer. | ||||

At the summer festival, Haruto and Yuzuki reaffirm their love for each other. Haruto decides to end his relationship with Asuka to be with Yuzuki; their decision causes their friends to ostracize them. Haruto decides to relocate his apartment and makes amends with Asuka. | ||||

Haruto attempts to convince him to return Yuzuki but is rebuffed forcing her to run away from home and live with Haruto. Akari contacts Haruto and asks that they, along with Takashi, should reconcile their friendship. Haruto, Yuzuki, Akari, and Takashi gather to mend their friendship. On the anniversary of Kyousuke's death, the group find Kiyomi and Asuka and are able to resolve their differences. Lastly, Haruto reconciles with Nanami. | ||||

During Haruto's daily life, Yuzuki's student, Chisa Miyanaga, confesses her love towards Haruto. Chisa threatens to go on a study strike if she doesn't have a date with Haruto to which he obliges. At school, Haruto decides to join an outdoors camping club; he meets club captain Seiya Mizumoto, and is reacquainted with high school classmate Mina Nagoshi. During the camping trip, Mina misunderstands Haruto's words and actions, and believes she is now Haruto's girlfriend. | ||||

Akari's father becomes sick forcing her to drop out of school and to join her father's company. Haruto's friend discuss their future plans causing him to contemplate on his future. Miyu asks Haruto and Yuzuki to accompany her on a trip to Okinawa to overcome her social anxiety. To pay for the trip, Haruto takes another part time job at Shiho's restaurant. After hearing Haruto talk about a girl at work, Yuzuki begins to treat him coldly. The two then reconcile on the Okinawa trip. | ||||

Haruto gives Yuzuki a ring which she puts on her ring finger. The two attend a summer festival and after returning home, has sex for the first time. Rin learns about this and is disheartened, realizing she liked Haruto. At a high school reunion, Haruto becomes intoxicated and is carried to Asuka's room. | ||||

Asuka decides to call a taxi and accompanies Haruto home. There, Yuzuki apologies for taking Haruto from her and the two reconcile. Nanami asks Haruto if she should date Akito Fujikawa. Upon hearing rumors that Akito is a womanizer, Haruto investigates and disproves the theory; The girl who started the rumor is revealed to have a crush on Nanami. The same girl then attempts to pursue Yuzuki then Rin. For New Years, Haruto and friends vacation to Mount Fuji. Haruto and Mina are appointed as the captains for the outdoors camping club. Later, Haruto decides to get a driver's license. | ||||

Later, Akari reveals she is will marry Narumi. She asks Haruto to have sex with her to overcome the love she has for him; Haruto declines and explains it would not help her. After Akari's wedding ceremony, Miyu makes plans to study abroad and Takashi confides to Haruto about Kiyomi's pregnancy. | ||||

Haruto resumes job hunting and stops Misa when she intends to use her body to secure an interview. Afterwards, Misa succeeds in finding a job and the two wish each other well. At school, Haruto realizes Mina's misunderstanding and the situation resolves itself. An employer, having seen Haruto save Misa, offers him a job. | ||||

Haruto suggested at the train station that they break up due to the expenses Yuzuki used to visit him at his home during weekends. Yuzuki agreed but smiles. As the train leaves the station, Haruto looks out and saw Yuzuki on her knees and crying her heart out. Haruto felt guilty but think this was the best for them as he also wants Yuzuki to fully pursue her dream. Years later, Haruto got a promotion which was recommended by his senior at his work. The promotion was meant for her but she insisted he was the one who did the great job. Therefore, he got the promotion to Tokyo! Luck smile upon them as Haruto gets the chance to work again at Tokyo with Yuzuki staying there.
When Haruto arrives he met Takashi and he kid on the fact that Haruto still hasn't give up on Yuzuki thus still has no girlfriend. Haruto asked about Yuzuki but Takashi said that he hasn't see her personally. After that Haruto walked to the place where he and Yuzuki went and remember the promise that they will meet each other during each cheery blossom . And as the flowers drop he saw Yuzuki standing in front of him with Yuzuki saying "you are late" making Haruto cried as he thinks of the day where he and Yuzuki broke up at the train station. He then hugs Yuzuki which tears in both of their eyes. They then proceed to get married with Takashi saying he was surprised that they got married once Haruto came back. Kiyomi then said she was impressed that the both of them can still be together as if it was her after waiting for so long she would have found another boyfriend to be with. Haruto then praised Yuzuki in her beautiful wedding dress and Kiyomi says that anything that is as cute as her would bound to be nice in anything. Before the ceremony Yuzuki dad was shown to be very proud of how his daughter grew up to be a woman like her mother and ask her to look at their daughter on how much she grew. After Haruto carried Yuzuki out and they proceed to take pictures. Years later, Takashi and Akari went to visit Haruto restaurant with them talking on how Haruto gave up his job to open his own restaurant. As they were walking they bump into Daiki with Takashi commending on how much Daiki has grown up. They then went to Haruto's restaurant and with all their old friends they watched as Asuka played baseball for the Japan's national team with Haruto taking out Kazama helmet and insisted that all of them should watch together bringing tears to Yuzuki's eyes. As the end approaches Haruto thinks that as long as he is with his friends who has been with him all the years even thought if they are idiots he is happy, and most importantly he is happy that he met Yuzuki again in this town where he live. |
