LoveCat Music

LoveCat Music is an American independent record company and music publisher, founded in 1999 with a catalog of over 10,000 songs from a varied roster of songwriter-artists. It originally focused on indie rock notably Evan Olson and Los Straitjackets. Since then the label has grown and diversified into releasing Latin (Cesar Mora, Latin Soul Syndicate, the Latin Moderns compilation series), ethnic lounge (Angel Tears (duo), Zino & Tommy), jazz (Bill Anschell, Four Piece Suit) and eclectic records such as Lotus Lounge. One of LoveCat's most notable artists is Reagan Youth, the legendary 1980s New York punk band, whose songs have been covered by The Beastie Boys and D Generation.

LoveCat is one of the most active Latin music publishers in the business, with writer-artists from Colombia, Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador. It also has one of the largest catalogs of Russian music in all styles, including Russian hiphop, pop, rock and traditional folk. LoveCat is also noted for finding and signing new artists from France, Germany and the Ukraine.

Some artists are signed only to LoveCat's music publishing company (Los Niños de Sara, Madder Rose, Doug Kershaw, Mary Lorson & Saint Low, Seb Taylor aka Kaya Project, Nick Fowler, Athenaeum. Songs from the LoveCat catalog are licensed in various films and television shows including Deadpool, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Soul Men, The Sopranos, Sex and The City, The Devil Wears Prada and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Reagan Youth

LoveCat Music's best known band is Reagan Youth, which began in the 1980s and reformed circa 2008. Reagan Youth is a socially and politically aware punk rock band with a major cult following. The band's philosophy is summed up in their song "I Hate Hate", which promotes unity of all races, creeds and colors. LoveCat has placed songs from both of the band's albums in major films and TV shows, notably Stranger Things and Airheads. The band is currently preparing to record their third album about the life and times of Dave Rubinstein, the original lead singer / founding member.
