Possible Origin
While debatable and in need of research, the origin of the name "Mansouri" may be a derivative of the "Mansur" surname, which was first popularly recorded with Abu Jaffar Al-Mansur, The second Abbasid Caliph that reigned from 754 AD – 775 AD. Jaffar Al-Mansur is regarded to be the real founder of the Abbasid Caliphate, one of the largest polities in world history, for his role in stabilizing and institutionalizing the dynasty. He is also known for founding the 'round city' of Madinat al-Salam which was to become the core of imperial Baghdad.
In common Arabic, it is common for families to give surnames according to a person's origin in relation to location. Therefore, if a newborn was conceived in Saudi Arabia, then their surname may be related with "Al Saudi". Example, Ahmed "Ibn Muhamed Al Saudi".
However, there is a possibility that the name "Mansouri" May originate from Egypt, from the city of Mansoura and it is notable that Berber natives of the North African regions also bear the surname "Mansouri", and therefore begets an effort into tracing the origin of the surname.
It is unknown whether "Mansouri" conclusively originated from the time period of the introduction of Islam, and may extend its conception since Numidian North Africa and Pharaoh's Egypt.
