Martti Hirviniemi
Martti Hirviniemi (23 May 1933 Helsinki, Finland - 2 January 2005) was a Finnish international football referee.[1]
Career
He officiated 16 international matches and was FIFA referee in 1960–1980. He attributed 7 matches in World Cup qualifying (1962-1982) and 3 matches in European Championship qualifying (1968-1976)[2] and others were in friendly matches. He also attributed 4 Nordic Championship matches in 1963–79.[2] He appointed a penalty kick in 1968 European Championship qualifing match between Germany-Albania 6:0 against Albania and Gerd Müller converted it.[3]
In club football he officiated some matches in Cup Winners Cup (7) and Champions League (3).[1]
