Background
It describes a man's intense love for his wife and how he looks forward to a lifetime with her. Michael Rashkow has stated : "'Mary in the Morning' wasn't about anybody; it's a song that we made up. It was among the first, if not the first, pop song with lyrics that clearly place a man and woman in bed together".
