Maurette Brown Clark

Maurette Brown Clark (b. 1966;[2] as Maurette Brown), is an American gospel musician. She started her solo music career, in 1998, with the release of How I Feel on Verity Records. Her subsequent three album were released by Atlanta International Records, with 2002's By His Grace, 2007's The Dream and 2011's The Sound of Victory. These albums all charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. She has also been a member of Richard Smallwood's group, Vision, since inception in 1996

Early life

Brown Clark was born in Long Island, New York,[2] to musically inclined parents.[1] She started singing at four years of age and commenced receiving professional help with her singing at six.[3] She sang during her high school and collegiate days before touring with other gospel musicians.[3]

Music career

Her solo music career got started in 1998, with the release of How I Feel on August 25, 1998 by Verity Records.[4] This album peaked on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart at No. 8.[5] While all of her next releases were with Atlanta International Records. She released, By His Grace, on August 6, 2002,[6] and this charted at No. 12 on the Gospel Albums chart.[5] Her next release, The Dream, came out on March 6, 2007,[7] which this charted on the Gospel Albums chart at No. 34.[5] The fourth album, The Sound of Victory, released on November 1, 2011,[8]charted at No. 6 on the Gospel Albums chart.[5] Cross Rhythms' rated her first release a six out of ten, while the second release was rated a nine out of ten.[9]
