Merlin Bingham Swire
Merlin Bingham Swire (born 4 December 1973) is a British businessman. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Swire Group. As the head of a major trading house, he is colloquially known in Hong Kong as a Tai-pan.

Early life
Merlin Bingham Swire was born in 1973.[1] His late father, Sir Adrian Swire, was a billionaire heir and former chairman of the Swire Group. His mother is Lady Judith Compton. He has a brother who also works at Swire Group, Samuel Compton Swire.[1]
He graduated from University College, Oxford in 1993, where he studied Classics.[2]
Career
Swire started his career at the family business, the Swire Group, in 1997.[1][3] He worked for them in Hong Kong, Australia, China and London.[1][3]
He is the CEO of the Swire Group.[4] He is on the board of directors of Cathay Pacific, and HAECO.[3][5] He has been a director of Swire Properties since January 2009.[3]
