Since 2011, for two years running, Metricon has been named Australia's largest residential builder by the Housing Industry Association. According to the 2012-2013 HIA-Colorbond steel Housing 100 Report, Metricon was the third-largest builder in the nation, with 2,837 housing starts.[1]
In 2011, Metricon won the naming rights to Metricon Stadium, the home stadium for the Gold Coast Suns Football Club. At the moment, Mario Biasin and Ross Palazzesi are the owners.
In 2019; Metricon topped the Housing 100 with a total of 4,764 starts nationally.[2] This comprised 4,495 detached houses and 269 semi-detached dwellings. Victoria was already the largest market in the country for new detached houses and the state has posted a near-record number of starts in 2017/18. Every detached house builder in the Housing 100 who operated in Victoria increased their volume in 2017/18. This makes it the 4th year in a row that Metricon has been the Number 1 Builder Nationally according to the HIA-Colorbond steel Housing 100 Report.[3]
