Mine Service

The Mine Service (Mijnendienst) is the wing of the Royal Netherlands Navy dealing with mine-laying and minesweeping. It was established in 1907 from the Torpedo Service (the latter had been established in the 19th century, when 'torpedo' meant any underwater explosive).
