Mirsad Hadžikadić

Mirsad Hadžikadić (born 21 January 1955) is a Bosnian-American professor and director of the Institute of Complex Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.[1] In 2018, he declared his candidacy to run for the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2018 election.[2][3][4][5]

Early life

Hadžikadić was born in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina to a Bosniak Muslim household.[2] In 1984, he moved to the United States, receiving a PhD in Computer Science at Southern Methodist University in 1987.[6][7]

Candidacy for presidency

In 2018, Hadžikadić declared his candidacy for the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2018 election, stating "I will be a candidate for a member of the BiH Presidency from the Bosniak people" (translated from "Hoću, biću kandidat za člana Predsjedništva BIH iz bošnjačkog naroda").[5]
