Mission Doctors Association

Mission Doctors Association (MDA) is a medical charity founded in 1959 by Msgr. Anthony Brouwers. MDA recruits, trains and supports Catholic doctors and their families from the United States to serve at mission hospitals and clinics in Africa and Latin America.

MDA has two programs providing opportunities for medical doctors and their families to serve long-term (three years) or short-term (one - three months). MDA continues to receive requests for general practitioners, pediatrics, surgeons, OB/GYN, Ophthalmologists, dentists and others.

MDA is the sister program to the Lay Mission-Helpers Association, which places other professionals, nurses, teachers, administrators and others in three-year mission assignments to share their gifts and live their faith.
