Nika Melia

Nikanor Melia (born 21 December 1979)[1] is a Georgian politician who is a chairman of United National Movement and he is member of parliament of Georgia. He was member of parliament of Georgia from United National Movement from 2016 to 2019. He was replaced by Badri Basishvili. He holds a master's degree in International Relations from Oxford Brookes University.[2]

He is the only opposition candidate to take 1st place in any of the rounds of the 2020.Georgian legislative election, but he boycotted and didn't participate in the second round.

In June 2019 he was released on bail having been charged with organising or managing group violence or participating in it, during the 20–21 June Georgian protests in Tbilisi.[3][4][5][6]

In December 2020, After the resignation of Grigol Vashadze he was elected the Chairman of the United National Movement.
