The current Minister for Defence People and Veterans is Johnny Mercer MP since July 2019. [2]
He was born on the 17th of August, 1981 in Dartford, Kent.
In 2002, he joined the 29th Commando Regiment Royal Artillery as an Officer, after passing out of RMAS Sandhurst. [3]
He served in Afghanistan during Operation Herrick and was Honorably Discharged at the rank of Captain in 2013.
