Pettavaithalai
Pettavaithalai is a town between Tiruchirappalli and Karur. The distance from Pettavaithalai to Trichy is 24 km and Pettavaithalai to Karur is 54 km. The Pettavaithalai town is an important place of pilgrimage. The important temples are Karumbai Amman Temple, Lord Karumbu Anjaneya Temple and Madhyarjuneswaraswamy(Lord Shiva) temple at Devasthanam. Pettavaithalai is by the river Cauvery and this is the takeoff point for the Uyyakondan canal which is the major irrigation canal for the fertile lands in Trichy district.
