Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid

Phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid (ε- or 6-(phthalimido)peroxyhexanoic acid, abbreviated as PAP) is a synthetic organic peroxy acid derived from caproic acid and phthalimide.[2] The compound is mainly used as bleaching activator, alternatively or in association to hydrogen peroxide, in moderate laundry conditions.[2] It is also described as tooth whitening agent.[3] In room conditions, PAP is a white odorless crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water and strongly oxidizer.[2][4]
