Plot
Balagopalan aka Balu (Mukesh) is from a family of fortune-tellers but he does not like the profession and his ambition is to act in movies. He joins an acting school to learn acting. His responsibility towards his family leads him to start his fortune-teller career on the roadside. Some of his predictions become true and thereby he becomes famous. His successful life has a turning point when the finance minister (Jagannathan) of the state is kidnapped. The public thinks the minister is kidnapped by Balu's friend's father Kurian (Narendra Prasad). The story revolves around the mystery behind the kidnapping.

Production
As the movie prepared for release, pirated video cassettes of the movie flooded the video shops in Kerala. The producers then decided not to release the movie. The movie was therefore not released across Kerala, except for a few theatres that had an agreement with the producers. The movies are now telecast on television channels.
