Raya Oromo people
The Raya People (also Rayyaa) are an subgroup of mixed ethnic heritage inhabiting an area from the historic Wollo Province to Lake Ashenge Tigray Province in Ethiopia, with ancestry and multicultural heritage from the local Amhara and small Tigrayan communities. [1]
Language
The Raya speak multiple languages, including Tigrinya, Amharic, and a dialect of Afaan Oromo. However, linguistic descriptions of the Raya and nearby Wollo areas are still lacking.[2]
