Rik Carey
Patrick "Rik" Carey (born December 21, 1977) is a Bahamian music producer, singer, musician, and the lead vocalist for the junkanoo band Baha Men, with the hit song "Who Let the Dogs Out?".

History
The son of a respected guitarist and a popular singer, Carey came to music early in life. He established a career in the Bahamas as a drummer for some local bands and a producer for local studios, working with young and upcoming talent. In 2000 he achieved the position of lead vocalist for the Baha Men, and developed as a young international recording artist and producer as the group toured the world performing and selling albums. The album Who Let the Dogs Out sold more than 7 million records worldwide, more than 3 million in the USA, and earned Carey and co-producer Carly James the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2000, 2 Billboard Awards for World Music Album of the Year 2000 and World Music Song of the Year 2000, and a Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Song in 2001 & Favorite Band in 2002. When not travelling across the world performing, Carey can be found at several recording studios in Nassau, Bahamas where he does most of his production with local and international artists.

Influences
Carey cites as his main influences the many music styles of the Caribbean, including elements of Soca, Dancehall, R&B, and HipHop, often blended with a native sound from the Bahamas called "Junkanoo" and "Rake n Scrape." He also has a great love of music from the 1970s and 1980s, as it was music he grew up on; as a child, his family would often play old records and practice for their band gigs (High Voltage, Sweet Exorcist, Snap Shot). Close friends and family members have also had a great influence in his life, including his wife Sheki, his father Pat Carey (guitarist), his little brother Sketch (producer and R&B/ Pop recording artist), the Baha Men (Grammy Award-winning band), and many Bahamian Musicians, Producers and Artists.
