Robin Williams filmography
American actor and comedian Robin Williams (1951–2014) starred in films, television and video games throughout his career.
Williams studied acting at the College of Marin in California and later at the Juilliard School in New York. Williams' first acting role was in the revival of Laugh-In in 1977, before he portrayed Mork in Mork & Mindy from 1978 to 1982 and the titular role in Popeye. After starring in less financially successful films he made his breakthrough role portraying Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning, Vietnam which earned him his first nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. He also received two more Oscar nominations for his roles in Dead Poets Society (1989) and The Fisher King (1991). Williams won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Good Will Hunting (1997). He also won six Golden Globe Awards, including Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his roles in Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), The Fisher King (1991), and Mrs. Doubtfire (1993).
