Roland Phleps
Roland Phleps (1924 − 20 April 2020) was a German sculptor.
Biography
Phleps was born in the Sibiu (German: Hermannstadt), Romania. After World War II, in which he served as a soldier, he studied medicine at the universities of Tübingen and Göttingen in Germany. He obtained his doctorate in Tübingen and was a physician assistant in hospitals in Tübingen, Lübeck, Esslingen am Neckar and Freiburg from 1951 to 1959. From the early 1980s he was interested in the art movement Konkrete Kunst. Between 1983 and 1984 he experimented with geometric constructions of aluminum plates.
