Biography
Welford was born in Cullercoats, Tyne and Wear, England.[1] He attended Leeds University before moving to London. He became a magazine journalist and later a television producer.[2]
Career
His debut novel, Time Travelling With A Hamster, was published in 2016 and was shortlisted for the Costa,[3] Blue Peter,[4] Waterstones,[5] and Branford Boase Awards.[6]
It was followed by five other novels between 2017 and 2021.
Cullercoats appears as 'Culvercot' in Welford's books.
