Research activities
In 1998, for the first time in the history of science of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Gallyamov organized a conference in the Bashkir State University "Comparative Linguistics".
Salawat Gallyamov was a defender of archaeological monuments in the territory of Bashkortostan. Since 2000 Salawat Gallyamov has collaborated with the Russian Academy of Sciences of St. Petersburg and with some foreign scientists.
Based on the hypothesis of the Turanian origin of the Bashkir people, which Gallyamov refers to as "Bashkord" in his works, and on the comparison of the Bashkir mythology with the ancient texts of the Indo-Iranians (the Rig-Veda, Upanishad, Avesta) and the philosophical treatises of the ancient thinkers (Plato, Plotinus, Proclus) Salavat Gallyamov offers a reconstruction of the Bashkir mythology, philosophy and language.
Confirmations of Gallyamov's hypotheses
He pointed out the vestiges of Zoroastrian customs among the Bashkirs. In particular, the Zoroastrian custom of five-fold girdling in the epic "Ural-batir".[2]
False evidence of hypotheses and shortcomings of Gallyamov's works
Tense and fictional ethnic kinship of the Kurds and Bashkirs, by comparing the ethnonyms "Kurd" and "Bashkort" (note 'bashkort (bashqort)' – native name of Bashkirs).
Artificial ignoring about Altai (Turkic-Mongolian) and Ural (Finno-Ugric) ethnic substrates in the ethnogenesis of the Bashkirs. Racial prejudice S. Gallyamov in favor of the eurocentric approach in history, as a consequence of subjectivism in the works. Unwillingness and inability to work with references to other authors.
