Sam Searcy
Samuel Lee Searcy (born May 3, 1977) is a former Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly representing the State's 17th Senate district from 2019 until his resignation in 2020.

Career
Searcy defeated Tamara P. Barringer on November 6, 2018 in United States elections, 2018 as the nominee of the Democratic Party.[1] Searcy won by a margin of 50 percent to 47 percent of Barringer.[2] In 2020, Searcy was reelected for a second term, but then resigned in order to take a new position, which he did not specify.[3]
