Saman Halgamuge

Saman Halgamuge is a Sri Lanka academic who emigrated to Australia.[1] He's a cited expert in his field, his most-cited paper being Self-organizing hierarchical particle swarm optimizer with time-varying acceleration coefficients, with 2617 citations, according to GoogleScholar.[2]

Education

Halgamuge received his primary and secondary education at Ananda College and gained admission to University of Moratuwa where he graduated with a degree in electronics and telecommunications.[3] Later he attended Technische Universität Darmstadt in Germany to study Masters and PhD in electrical engineering. In 1994 he earned his doctorate in electrical engineering.[4]

Career

Halgamuge started his career as a lecturer in University of South Australia and then moved to University of Melbourne where he was a professor in mechanical engineering. He later became the professor and director of research at the School of Engineering at Australian National University.[5]
