Samito is a forward-looking musician and producer whose expanding work is entrenched in an unwavering passion for sounds of the now and the upcoming. Samito is also the founder of Fezihaus, a Montréal-based creative company he started in 2020.

After earning a Music degree from Mcgill University, Samito first came to public attention in 2016 with his song 'Tiku La Hina' propelling him into countless live stages at SXSW, Osheaga, Pop Montreal, MaMA Festival & Convention, Reeperbahn, Festival d'été de Québec, among others. 2016 also saw the release of “Cem Cem (feat. Mabika & Muneshine)” on French fashion + music Label Kitsuné, followed by "I Saw You", a 2017 electro inspired club tune released with Berlin-based label Man Recordings. His music is primarily sung in Portuguese, though he has performed songs in English and French.
Career
Born in Maputo Samito moved to Montréal in 2005 first to pursue his studies and then a career in Music. In Montréal, he jammed and recorded music with SPRLUA, Rymz, Arthur Comeau, Philippe Brault, Radio Radio, Pierre Kwenders Poirier, among others.
On May 27, 2016, he released his debut album, the self-titled Samito with his hit "Tiku la Hina" released with an accompanying music video broadcast on Canadian music channels Much and MusiquePlus. The album was awarded the 2017 Félix Award for World Music Album Of The Year at Québec's Gala De L’ADISQ. Samito is also one of Radio Canada's 2015-2016 upcoming artist of the year.[1]
Samito's credits and collaborations include Gotan Project's Philippe Cohen-Solal, Daniel Haaksman, Dakat, Muneshine and Pierre Kwenders.
