SentinelOne is an American cybersecurity startup based out of Mountain View, California.[1][2] The company was founded in 2013 by Tomer Weingarten and Almog Cohen.[3][4] Weingarten acts as the company's CEO.[1][2] Nicholas Warner is the company's COO.[5] Currently the company has approximately 700 employees and offices in Mountain View, Boston, Tokyo, and Tel Aviv.[2][6][7] The company uses machine learning for monitoring personal computers, IoT devices, and cloud workloads.[2][8] The company's platform utilizes a heuristic model, specifically its patented behavioral AI.[9] The company is AV-TEST certified.[10][11]

In June 2019, SentinelOne received $120 million in a Series D funding round led by Insight Partners.[9] The company received an addition $200 million in Series E funding in February 2020 in a round led by Insight Partners, along with Tiger Global Management, Qualcomm Ventures, and others.[12] The Series E round placed SentinelOne at a valuation of about $1.1 billion, making the company considered a "unicorn".[2][1]

In 2019, SentinelOne was included on Forbes AI50 at number 14.[3]

In March 2020, SentinelOne partnered with Hong Kong-based technology company Lenovo.[13]

Funding

Recently, SentinelOne closed a round for $267 million in funding, bringing their total valuation to $3.1 billion.[14] Major shareholders include Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global Management, Third Point Ventures, Insight Partners, Granite Hill Capital Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, and others.[15]
