Career
[2] She then went on to complete her secondary education and chose to make a career in music, expressing interest in becoming a vocalist. Sharanya also subsequently underwent a music production course under Henry Kuruvila after doing the same in another course at A. R. Rahmans KM Music Conservatory.[3] She received positive reviews for her song alongside K. J. Yesudas, with a reviewer from The Hindu noting she had a "sweet voice".[4] Her first song in Tamil as an adult was from Phani Kalyan's album Konjam Koffee Konjam Kaadhal (2012), performing song titled "Adi Thaahira" alongside Sathya Prakash. She then performed in the Tamil version of Raanjhanaa for A. R. Rahman again, singing two Carnatic songs, "Kalaarasiga" and "Kanaave Kanaave", describing the first song as "close to her heart".[5] Sharanya has also performed two songs in her father's album for the film Kangaroo singing alongside Vijay Prakash and Haricharan. In 2014, she went on to perform two melodious songs from the movie Panthu, which was followed by a duet for Raja Mandhiri which was composed by Justin Prabhakar.
Sharanya has had the privilege of working with some of the most popular composers in the Tamil industry such as AR Rahman, Imman, Sharreth, Santhosh Narayanan, Nivas Prasanna, Madley Blues and Justin Prabhakar.
She gives many live performances with her band and musicians such as Srinivas, Naresh Iyer, Vijayprakash, Stephen Devassy and Haricharan. She has performed over 200 stage shows catering to different genres.
Her recent work includes her single 'Kozhai' released by the online portal Doopadoo. The plot of the single was something most people could relate to, about being a frustrated about the society's ills but unable to do anything about the situations. It had thought provoking lyrics by Madan Karky with music by father Srinivas. The single received a lot of appreciation.
Her latest song release was for A.R.Rahman in the movie, Mersal, starring Vijay, directed by Atlee in the year 2017.
