Smyer Independent School District

Smyer Independent School District is a public school district based in Smyer, Texas (USA) that serves students in east central Hockley County. There are two schools in the district – Smyer Secondary (Grades 7-12) and Smyer Elementary (Grades (PK-6).

The mascot for both schools is the Bobcats for the boy teams, and the Ladycats for the girl's teams. And back to back girls state champs in 2010 and 2011 and state runner up in 2013. In 2009, the school district was rated "recognized" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]
