South Delhi Municipal Corporation
South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is one of the municipal corporations in Delhi, India created after the former Municipal Corporation of Delhi was divided into three. Also, it is one of five local bodies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the others being North Delhi Municipal Corporation, East Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board.

Prior to trifurcation, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was a mega Municipal Corporation, an autonomous body that used to govern 8 of the 9 Districts of Delhi in the state of Delhi, India. The MCD was among the largest municipal bodies in the world providing civic services to more than estimated population of 11 million citizens in the capital city. The then unified municipal corporation used to cover an area of 1,397.3 km² (539.5 mi²).[2]

"SDMC is serving the population of almost 56 Lacs citizen with a responsibility of monitoring, upgrading and developing civic amenities efficiently with a view to create a better tomorrow for citizens of Delhi", according to its official website.
It occupies an area of 656.91 Sq. K.M. which is further sub- divided into 4 Zones- Central, South, West and Najafgarh Zone and has 104 wards. SDMC also has unique distinction of providing civic services from highly posh residential and commercial areas to rural and urban villages, JJ Resettlement Colonies, regularized and unauthorized colonies. There are 388 Approved Colonies, 86 Rural villages, 81 Urbanized villages, 111 Unauthorized colonies, 252 Unauthorized regularized colonies and 32 JJ Resettlement Colonies.
The Head Quarter is located at SP Mukherjee Civic Centre, Minto Road, Delhi. There are two wings i.e. Deliberate Wing and Executive Wing.[3]
SDMC recently opened the Waste to Wonder park near Rajiv Gandhi Samriti Van at Kale Khan which showcases seven Wonders of the World made from Industrial waste.[4] SDMC also constructed Shanti Stupa near Indraprastha Park which is replica of Shanti Stupa of Ladakh.
