Steve McDaniel

Steve McDaniel is a former Republican Party Representative from the U.S. state of Tennessee.[1][2]

Biography

Steve McDaniel was born on October 20, 1951.[1][2] He attended Jackson State Community College, and graduated from the University of Memphis in 1973.[1][2] He served both as Deputy Speaker and as a Representative in the Tennessee House of Representatives.[1]

Mc Daniel is a member of the National Rifle Association, the Civil War Preservation Trust, the Tennessee Civil War Preservation Association, National Restaurant Association, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. McDaniel joined the Sons of Confederate Veterans during 1981.[3][1][2][4]

McDaniel was also on the Board of Directors of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a national association of legislators.[5] He is also a member of the Church of Christ.[1]

Tennessee Heritage Protection Act (2013 & 2016)

Rep. McDaniel was the author and legislative sponsor of the Tennessee Heritage Protection Act in the Tennessee House of Representatives during 2013, and again during 2016. [6]
