TECOM Group, formerly known as TECOM Investments, operates 11 sector-focused communities in Dubai.[1][2][3] It is a unit of the sovereign investment vehicle, Dubai Holding[4][5]

The group works with the Dubai Government in its new strategies and plans:
- Dubai Design District (d3), a member of the group, is the official greenfield development site for Dubai's Smart City initiatives.[6]
- Dubai Industrial City (formerly known as Dubai Industrial Park), a member of the group hosts a dedicated ‘Halal Cluster’ in collaboration with the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, and Dubai Municipality.[7][8]
- The group works with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to provide electric vehicle charging infrastructure, smart meters and grids.[9]
- Dubai Industrial City will host the International Centre for 3D Printing, .[10]
- Dubai Industrial City helped develop the Dubai Industrial Strategy.[11]
The group has rolled out an AED 4.5 billion Innovation Strategy to create infrastructure, and drive entrepreneurship.. This includes developing innovation complexes, creative spaces, technology laboratories and smart buildings, the launch of new business incubators, and the establishment of a start-up fund to stimulate innovation.[12] As part of this, the group launched a new platform for media start-ups and entrepreneurs, in5 Media. The group first invested in incubation and innovation centres in 2013, with Dubai Internet City's in5, which has since worked with over 20,000 people in hackathons, competitions and community events.[13][14][15]
TECOM merged two of its projects, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park, and the Energy and Environment Park, in 2015, into Dubai Science Park.[16][17]
New brand identities were announced in 2015 and 2016 for some of its communities:
- Dubai Outsource Zone was rebranded as Dubai Outsource City.[18]
- International Media Production Zone was rebranded as Dubai Production City.[19]
- Dubai Knowledge Village was rebranded as Dubai Knowledge Park.
TECOM also manages Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai International Academic City.[20][21][22][23]
Dubai Design District (d3) is also a part of the group's themed developments portfolio, located adjacent to the Business Bay area.[24] Emirates Towers District is the latest addition to the group's portfolio of business communities. .[25]
In February 2018, Malek Al Malek took over as Group CEO of TECOM Group, replacing Dr. Amina Al Rustamani [26]
