Telva
Telva is a Spanish language monthly women's magazine published in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the largest and earliest women's magazines in the country.[1]

History and profile
Telva was started in 1963.[2][3] During its initial phase, the magazine was controlled by Opus Dei.[4] More specifically, the publisher of the magazine was owned by Opus Dei.[5] During this period it was a conservative women's magazine.[5] Covadonga O'Shea became the editor in 1970. She had started as deputy director after leaving education with a degree.[6] Following the death of Franco in 1975 although Spanish institutions began to take part in democratic transition, Telva continued its ultra conservative stance.[5]
The magazine was part of Recoletos group until February 2007, when the company was acquired by RCS Media Group.[7][8][9] It is published by Unidad Editorial Socieda de Revistas SL on a monthly basis and features articles on fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.[2][8] Its headquarters are in Madrid.[2] The monthly has several annual supplements.[8]
In 2006, the circulation of Telva was 174,436 copies.[10] The magazine had a circulation of 174,750 copies in 2009, making it the second best-selling women's monthly magazine in Spain.[11] The circulation of the monthly circulation was 181,434 copies in 2010, and it grew to 188,524 copies in 2011.[12] The circulation of the magazine was 183,336 copies in 2012.[12] Between July 2012 and June 2013, the magazine sold 162,101 copies.[8] In 2019 the circulation of Telva was 113,745 copies.[13]
