History

Developed initially as an on-site inventory supplier for Promega products, the privately held Terso Solutions, Inc. was spun off from Promega Corporation in 2005. In February 2010, Terso Solutions formed Terso GmbH in Mannheim, Germany.[1] Terso expanded its US manufacturing capabilities in 2018 by moving into a new 30,000 square foot production facility in Madison.[2] Terso GmbH followed soon after, and in the Fall of 2019 expanded its production and assembly operations and relocated its European headquarters to Walldorf, Germany. Terso currently employs over 60 people and has over 40 global partners in both healthcare and life science.

Products & Markets

Terso primarily develops, supports, and sells inventory management hardware and software solutions enabled with RAIN RFID technology to healthcare & life science industries. Terso’s devices include  RAIN RFID cabinets, refrigerators, freezers (-20C to -80C), read points, smart stock rooms, and mobile solutions.  All of these devices are enabled with RFID technology and as a result are able to transmit information from properly tagged inventory items to an inventory management software, making information such as product expiry, replenishment alerts, and temperature monitoring visible to the end-user(s). This information is sent via Jetstream,[3] Terso’s integration platform, and remains encrypted until reaching the business application or partner ERP system. Terso also offers an inventory management software solution called Stratosphere.[4]
