History
The Lamplighter School was founded in 1953 by Natalie Murray and Marieta "Sandy" Swain.[1] The land which the current location is on was owned by and leased from The Hockaday School. In 2011 The Lamplighter School purchased the land from Hockaday for $12.5 million.[2]
