The Most Beautiful Boy In The World (2021) is a documentary about Björn Andrésen and the effects of fame thrust upon him when he appeared in Luchino Visconti's 1971 film, Death in Venice. Andrésen was just 16 when the film came out, and was unprepared for instantly becoming an international celebrity.[3][4][5]

The title of the film came from a remark that Visconti made about Andrésen at the premiere of Death in Venice in London.[6][7]

The film premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival on Friday, January 29, 2021.[8][9]

Directors

The film was directed by Kristina Lindström, whose 2012 film Palme was nominated for the Guldbagge Award for Best Documentary Feature,[10] and Kristian Petri, who has directed several documentary films, including Brunnen [The Well] about Orson Welles's time in Spain.[11] Andrésen appeared in Petri's 2016 documentary Hotellet [The Hotel].[12]
