The Weekend News (Philippine TV program)
ABS-CBN Weekend News is a Philippine weekend newscast television program, and later the first Filipino-language weekend newscast of ABS-CBN. The newscast aired every Saturday and Sunday around midnight from June 1, 1996 to December 31, 2005. It was produced by ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs.

History
When the newscast first aired on June 1, 1996 as The Weekend News replaced the weekend edition of The World Tonight, it first used English as its primary language. The Weekend News switched to Filipino on March 3, 2001. It was relaunched as ABS-CBN Weekend News on August 18, 2001 as part of the network's major programming changes. The network then launched TV Patrol Weekend on May 9, 2004 & May 15, 2004 and the newscast ended on December 31, 2005.
