It is based on a segment of the Japanese game show Ucchannanchan no Honō no Challenger: Kore ga Dekitara 100 Man En!! (ウッチャンナンチャンの炎のチャレンジャー これができたら100万円!!); the Neo Geo game The Irritating Maze is based on the same show.
