.Maanthopu is an area which is in udathalawinna which has the history going for the 1000 years and the name early was ( inform it later ) And from few years it changed to maanthopu, the history was ” few guys saw a dear which is moving in udathalawinna and they guys chased it and capture a dog ” thats why the word maan is known as dear , and the thopu is known as land . There is a famous well known as cemendy kenam ( cement well ) which is build with the help of elephants and it is build in 1967 approximately .
