Ullu App rose to popularity with Kavita Radheshyam starring erotic show Kavita Bhabhi which surpassed the viewership by registering 600 Million downloads globally along with Alt Balaji's Gandii Baat.[13][14]

Controversy

The platform Ullu is criticised for heavily promoting adult content. In 2020 media reported that the Ullu featured adult and explicit content during the COVID-19 pandemic to gain more subscribers.[15][16] One of the erotic film Mastram has garnered several lakhs of views.[17] In 2019 the makers of D-code accused the platform of not making efforts to curb piracy of the show as intimate clips from the series made way to porn sites."This is on-screen molestation," Kajal shankawar describes the situation for wrongfully edited intimate scenes.[18]
