Each branch of the British Armed Forces has its own uniform regulations.

Cap badges are worn on most types of headdress, with the exception of operational headdress (which is not usually worn in public).

Turbans are worn by Sikh members of the British Armed Forces,

Cadets of the Community Cadet Forces, Combined Cadet Force and Volunteer Cadet Corps generally wear the same uniforms, but with distinctive items including brassards, cloth badges and cap badges.
