The United Arab Emirates national basketball team represents the United Arab Emirates in international basketball competitions and is controlled by United Arab Emirates Basketball Association.[2] (Arabic: كرة السلة الإمارات العربية المتحدة)

The UAE has qualified for more major international basketball tournaments than any other nation on the Arabian Peninsula except for Kuwait.
At the Arab Nations Cup, the UAE had its best performance in 1997 when it won the bronze medal.

FIBA Asia Championship
At the FIBA Asia Championship 2009 in Tianjin, China, the team finished 12th after qualifying for the eighth final round with an overtime victory over Indonesia in the first round.[3]
In 1997, the United Arab Emirates had its best performance in the championship, finishing in fifth place with a 4–3 record. The team beat traditional Asian powerhouse Chinese Taipei 78–62 in the fifth place game.
