The variable (speed) ratio centrifugal supercharger is a centrifugal supercharger that is able to change its speed independently of engine rpm.
History
Continuously variable transmissions have many applications one of which is an automotive aftermarket supercharger drive. A supercharger with a CVT VDP design was introduced to the automotive aftermarket in 2013.[1]

The ProCharger i-1® supercharger was introduced in 2013. This variable-ratio supercharger is available for automotive and truck applications, and can be controlled by the driver with a touchscreen display.
