The party was launched by former Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini on 29 June 2020. That day, he left Direction – Social Democracy (Smer–SD) along with ten more of the party's members of the National Council. In order to be officially registered, the party must obtain 10,000 signatures by 25 December 2020. He, Matúš Šutaj Eštok, and Peter Kmec form the party's preparatory committee. Pellegrini is planned to become the party's chairman if its formation takes place.[14] For the time being, the 11 deputies are classified as non-inscrits within the National Council.[15]
