Wang Deshun

Wang Deshun (born 1936) is a Chinese actor and fashion model.[1] He is also known as lao xianrou, old fresh meat, in the Chinese fashion world.[2]

Biography

Deshun was born in Shenyang, Liaoning province, one of nine children. He originally worked as a bus conductor and then a factory worker for the military. His acting career was curtailed by a medical diagnosis, but he pursued the less stressful pantomime, becoming the first Chinese actor to participate in the International Pantomime Festival in 1987.[3]

Career

His acting performances include ”Return to 20 Years”,”Pancake Man” and ”Yi Tian Tu Long Ji”.[4] In the 2008 performance of Forbidden Kingdom, Deshun played the role of emperor alongside Jackie Chan and Jet Li.[5]

He first premiered in the Beijing Fashion Week in 2015,[6] gaining notoriety as “China’s hottest grandpa”.[7][8] In 2017, he became Reebok’s ambassador in China, along with actors Yuan Shanshan and Wu Lei.[9] He performed a Living Sculpture interpretation of Rodin's art and modeled for Ermenegildo Zegna in Milan.[10]

He also teaches modeling at a Beijing fashion school.[11]
