Ángela Vidal

Ángela Vidal is the REC film series lead protagonist and is portrayed by actress Manuela Velasco in all the films except REC 3: Genesis, where the character does not appear.[1]

The REC series (stylized as [REC]) is a Spanish zombie horror film series.[2] The original 2007 film was shot in Barcelona, Spain and the title is an abbreviation of the word "record", as it appears on a video camera.

Vidal made her first appearance in the film REC. In the 2008 American remake Quarantine, the character's name is spelled Angela Vidal, and portrayed by Jennifer Carpenter.[3]

Character background

The character of Ángela Vidal is a fictional television personality and reporter for a documentary television series called While You're Sleeping. While filming a segment with a local fire station she encounters a zombie outbreak at a Barcelona apartment building.[2]

Her professional zeal (punctuated by profane exhortations to ensure the cameraman is still filming, even at the expense of their own personal safety) is used as comic relief throughout the first installment of the series.
