- 10 March - The Anglo-Siamese Treaty was signed. Siam transfers suzerainty of the northern Malay states of Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu to the United Kingdom. Siam also cedes parts of Upper Perak (Gerik) region to the Federated Malay States.
