1988 Virginia Slims Championships – Singles

Steffi Graf was the defending champion but lost in the semifinals to Pam Shriver. Graf was attempting to win a calendar year Super Slam after she won all four Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open), as well as the Olympics.
