Qualification
Preliminary round
Benin, Botswana, Cape Verde, Congo, Liberia, Mauritania and Swaziland withdrew. As a result, Senegal, Lesotho, Guinea-Bissau, Togo, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and Madagascar advanced to the next round.
