Season summary
In 1999–2000 season, Ipswich qualified for the Division One play-off final, the last First Division play-off final at Wembley Stadium before the stadium was to be redeveloped.[1] They beat Barnsley 4–2 securing their return to the Premiership after an absence of five years.[2]

Ipswich traveled to Scandinavia for pre-season prior to the 1999–2000 season, playing friendlies against Swedish sides Gefle IF and GIF Sundsvall.[3]
